SAE Engineering Scholarship Program. Must intend to earn a degree in engineering or related field, be a US citizen, and meet minimum GPA requirements. Scholarships are awarded ranging from $1,000 to $10,000. Deadline: Dec. 1, 2007 .

 

AXA Foundation Scholarship. Must demonstrate ambition and drive, respect, determination to set and reach goals, and ability to succeed in college. 42 state scholarships in the amount of $10,000 and 10 national scholarships for $25,000 will be awarded. Application found at www.axa-achievement.com . Deadline: Dec. 15, 2007 .

 

Fannin County 4-H, FFA, FCCLA Scholarships. Must have been actively involved in one of these organizations for the last 4 years. Deadline: Sept. 28, 2007 .

 

Al’s Formal Wear Scholarship. Scholarships in the amount of $2500 will be awarded. See www. alsformalwear.com for complete scholarship rules. Deadline: May 5, 2008 .

 

National Wild Turkey Federation Conservation Scholarships. Must have 3.0 GPA, have current hunting license, hold a current NWTF membership, be involved in school activities, and demonstrate leadership. Deadline: Jan. 1, 2008 .

 

Coca-Cola Scholars Program. Fifty scholarships will be awarded in the amount of $20,000, and 200 students will receive $10,000. Applications must be completed online at www.coca-colascholars.org. Deadline: Oct. 31, 2007 .

 

American Legion High School Oratorical Program. Scholarships are provided ranging from $500 to $2000 for the four state finalists. The national organization provides over $160,000 in scholarships. Deadline: Oct. 31, 2007 .

 

Texas Aggregates Concrete and Association Scholarships. Information can be found at www.tx-taca.org. Deadline: Nov. 16, 2007 .

 

Carr Academic Scholarship Program. Freshman scholarships at Angelo State University that range in value from $2000 to $6000. Students must rank in the top 15% of their class and score 1140 SAT or 25 ACT. Deadline: Feb. 1, 2008 .

 

Carr P Collins Scholars Program. Awarded by Baylor University to students who are in the top 25% of their class, have a 1250 SAT or 28 ACT, have completed a college prep program of study and be a Texas resident. Deadline: Jan. 31, 2008 .

 

McKelvey Foundation Entrepreneurial Scholarship. Apply online at mckelveyfoundation.org. Deadline: Jan. 15, 2008 .

 

Texas Student Housing Scholarship. $2500 a year OFF-CAMPUS scholarship awarded deserving students accepted to colleges in Austin , College Station , Denton , or San Marcos , TX . Deadline: Jan. 31, 2008 .

 

National Co-Op Scholarship Program. 185 scholarships totaling $4,500,000 are available in partnership with selected universities. Students must have a 3.5 GPA and complete admission requirements for the university. Application is online at www.co-op.edu. Deadline: Feb. 15, 2008 .

 

Sam Walton Community Scholarship A non-renewable $1000 scholarship will be awarded for the 1 st year of undergraduate study at an approved college or university. Additional guidelines and the application can be found at www.walmartfoundation.org. Deadline: Jan.14, 2008.

 

Texas Society of Professional Engineers Approximately $100,000 in scholarships will be awarded to high school seniors who plan to study engineering at an ABET accredited university ( a list can be obtained at www.abet.org/accrediteac.asp). The application form can be downloaded from www.tspe.org. Deadline: Jan. 21, 2008 .

 

Koh Family Engineering Scholarship Students may apply for $10,000 per year scholarship for the study of engineering at Texas Tech University . The on-line application process can be found at www.coe.ttu.edu/scholarship/koh. Deadline: Jan. 15, 2008 .

 

National Good Citizen Contest. George Blakely Chapter of the NationalDAR will award $50 to one Good Citizen winner from Fannin County . Deadline: Dec. 10, 2007 .

 

Glaser Family Charitable Foundation Scholarship. Scholarships in varying amounts awarded to Fannin County students. Applications in counselor’s office or online at www.gfcg.org. Deadline: Feb. 22, 2008 .

 

Sigma Phi Epsilon Balanced Man Scholarship. The Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity of Oklahoma State University will award this scholarship to an incoming freshman male who exemplifies academic excellence, selfless leadership, service to his community and a healthy lifestyle. The amounts vary from $250 to $1500. Deadline: March 14, 2008 .

 

Dallas Scottish Rite Library and Museum Scholarship. $1000 scholarship will be awarded to graduating senior based on academic merit and personal references. Deadline: March 1, 2008 .

 

National Co-op Scholarship. To be eligible for the scholarship a student must apply, be accepted and attend one of 10 NCCE Partner Colleges and Universities. Deadline: February 15, 2008 .

 

Ronald McDonald House Charities Scholarships. Program is comprised of 4 individual scholarship programs which target students with financial need. Additional information in counselor’s office or at www.rmhc.org. Deadline: February 15, 2008 .

 

AXA Achievement Community Scholarship. Up to $725,000 will be awarded to students who set and reach ambitious goals, demonstrate drive and determination, respect for self, family and community, and have the ability to succeed in college. Deadline: February 15, 2008 .

 

Daniel B. ( Bryan ) Deupree Scholarhip. Awarded to seniors graduating from high schools in Fannin County . Call 903-961-3001 to request an application. Deadline: March 1, 2008 .

 

Frisco Roughriders Foundation Scholarships. $1000 scholarships will be awarded to students with 3.0 GPA, who have participated in at least one athletic activity in their sr. year and at least one other extra-curricular activity .Deadline: April 4, 2008 .

 

TxDOT Conditional Grant Program Maximum of $3000 each semester will be awarded to an eligible student pursuing a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, computer science, and mgt. information. To qualify must be TX resident, considered economically disadvantaged and attend a TX 4-year public university. Application may be found at www.txdot.gov/careers.

David Norris Memorial Scholarship Scholarship will be awarded to graduating senior in Fannin County . Deadline: April 15, 2008 .

 

Wilson N. Jones Medical Center Foundation. Must have min. GPA of 2.5, must complete at least 1 college class toward a healthcare related field. Applicants will be evaluated without regard to financial need and without regard to race, gender, color or creed and preferential consideration may be given to applicants who have demonstrated an interest in the medical or healthcare field as demonstrated by employment history, community service or extracurricular activities. Deadline: March 5, 2008 .

 

Grayson County College and Foundation Scholarship Application. Each year over $400,000 is awarded in varying individual amounts. Must be full-time student and complete FAFSA. Deadline: March 15, 2008 .

 

Texas Trial Lawyers Association. Need-based scholarships of $1000 each are awarded to high school seniors statewide. Download application at www.ttla.com. Deadline: March 20, 2008 .

 

Strokes Orthodontics Scholarship Available to seniors who are current or former patients of Dr. Lisa Stokes. Deadline: March 17, 2008 .

 

Robert C Byrd Honors Scholarship Program. Selected students may receive up to $1500. Awards based on SAT/ACT scores, class rank, and GPA. Deadline: March 15, 2008 .

 

Texas Wesleyan University . Must have 3.5 GPA, 1000 SAT or 22 ACT and apply and be accepted for admission. Deadline: Feb. 15, 2008 .

 

Ozarka “Every Drop Counts” Earth Science Scholarship. Two $10,000 scholarships for Texas students who are pursuing degrees at 4-year universities in the field of earth/environmental science. Deadline: March 31, 2008 .

 

Verne Cooper Foundation Scholarship. Scholarships totaling approximately $100,000 will be awarded for the upcoming school year. Students who plan to attend tech or trade schools as well as colleges and universities are eligible for the awards. Deadline: May 1, 2008 .

 

American Chemical Society Awarded to African-American, Hispanic and Native American students to pursue careers in the chemical sciences. Approximately 100 scholarships will be given with values beginning at $2500. See www.acs.org/scholars for more information and application. Deadline: March 1, 2008 .

 

Horseman’s Association of Texoma. $500.00 scholarship awarded to graduating senior in the Texoma area who is actively involved in equine activities. Deadline: April 12, 2008 .

 

GCC Honors College . Awarded to academically focused student enrolled in the Honors College who will begin studies at GCC next fall. The scholarship value is $1400 and a dorm scholarship is also provided if desired. Deadline: not available

 

B. Don Magness Scholarship. $1000 scholarship available to male seniors at high schools where Miss TX has presented her program. Deadline: April 30, 2008 .

 

Business & Professional Women’s Club Scholarship. Scholarship awarded to Fannin County senior. Deadline: April 15, 2008 .

 

Paul and Dorothy Vestal Scholarship. Must be accepted to Austin College and have resided in Grayson Co. for at least 2 years. Deadline: April 1, 2008 .

 

 

Lincoln Tech. Open house and scholarship testing will be held on March 8, 2008 .

 

Graham Johnson Scholarship. Awarded to incoming freshman at TX A&M-Commerce who majors in Accounting, Eco/Finance, MIS, General Business, Marketing or Mgt. Must have 20 ACT or 920 ACT. Deadline: March 14, 2008 .

 

Dixie Youth Baseball Scholarship. Must have participated in a Dixie Youth Baseball (12 and under) franchised league. Deadline: March 1, 2008 .

 

H.G. Dulaney Scholarship. One $2000 scholarship and four $1000 scholarships will be awarded. For more information call 903-583-2455.

 

Insurance Women of Texoma Women’s Club Scholarship. Applicant must take a minimum of 12 hrs. take at least one insurance or business related course, attend a college or university in Texas , and maintain a 3.0 GPA. A $500 Scholarship will be awarded. Deadline: May 1, 2008.

 

Fannin Co. Texas A&M Club. One to three scholarships will be awarded with the amounts to be determined. Eligibility is limited to Fannin Co. seniors who will be a freshman at TX A&M-College Station in fall 2008. Deadline: May 15, 2008 .

 

Fannin Co. Patriot Scholarship. A $500 will be awarded to graduating Fannin Co. senior who exemplifies patriotism, civic dedication, volunteering, and good works. Student may attend technical training or a college or university. Deadline: May 2, 2008 .

 

TLIF Scholarship Scholarships in varying amounts awarded to students who have competed at UIL Academic State Meet anytime during their high school career (including 2008). Deadline: May 6, 2008 .
